Mia Thornton Arrested for Alleged Theft
Mia Thornton, a former star of “Real Housewives of Potomac,” has been taken into custody in Georgia over claims of stealing furniture from a rental property. She is 40 years old.
On Wednesday, she was booked into Fulton County Jail, facing a felony theft charge, as confirmed by sources.
According to reports, Thornton was arrested at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport after Customs and Border Protection flagged her as a wanted individual.
A police report obtained by a local CBS station indicates that she is accused of taking furniture from a condominium she was leasing. The property manager stated that Thornton abruptly left the unit in the middle of the night on October 28.
Management also alleged that she took several pieces of furniture and a television, with the total estimated loss pegged at around $11,000.
Body camera footage from the police showed Thornton acknowledging that there was a warrant out for her arrest.
Efforts to reach her for comments were unsuccessful, and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office did not respond immediately to inquiries.
In April, Thornton announced her departure from “The Real Housewives of Potomac,” after four seasons, and mentioned her plans to relocate to Atlanta.
In her announcement, she expressed excitement and pride, saying, “I don’t just make headlines. I make history. Brace yourselves, Atlanta. The empire has expanded.”
She shared more about her move, indicating that this change meant she wouldn’t be returning to the reality series.
