Micah Parsons' contract talks with the Cowboys are becoming personal.

Micah Parsons aspires to be among the highest-paid players in the NFL, but it seems there’s tension with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, contract discussions between Parsons and the Cowboys have broken down, and the situation has turned “personal.”

At 26, Parsons is in the last year of his rookie contract, after which he is expected to be franchise-tagged by the team.

On “The Pat McAfee Show,” Schefter remarked, “This feels different—more personal from both sides.” He added that there’s a lack of communication, saying, “It’s more like a sideline negotiation right now. No active discussions about closing a deal.”

This development follows comments from Jones regarding Parsons’ injury history. Last week, Jones emphasized, “We can’t just rely on having him just because we signed him. He missed six games last season. Seriously.”

Parsons missed four games last year but still managed to secure 12 sacks in 17 games.

Meanwhile, Dallas has successfully signed tight end Jake Ferguson to a four-year, $52 million deal.

Parsons has remained quiet about the ongoing negotiations, though he previously acknowledged contract discussions back in June.

Frustration may be growing for Parsons, especially as other pass rushers received significant pay increases recently.

In March, Miles Garrett signed a historic contract with the Browns, which at the time was the largest in NFL history.

Complications have been noted as Garrett sought a trade due to contract disputes, and tension in negotiations has been evident.

Similarly, Steelers pass rusher T.J. Watt missed mandatory minicamp in June over his own contract disagreements before finally agreeing to a substantial three-year contract.
