Micah Parsons criticizes Jerry Jones amid Cowboys' struggles

Parsons Accuses Jones of Slander

Micah Parsons hasn’t held back in expressing his feelings about Jerry Jones.

A few months after a major trade from the Cowboys to the Packers, Parsons took to X to accuse the Cowboys’ owner of tarnishing his reputation in both local and national media. He described this as “slandering my name” in a pointed social media post.

“Do you all want to make me feel bad?” Parsons asked, pushing back against Jones’ comments. “So, I think you can respond to the comments if you wish!”

It’s a bit murky what exactly triggered Parsons’s outburst, but recently he shared two posts related to the Cowboys. One of these was a response to a post discussing Trevon Diggs’ poor performance grade, which he bluntly called “the worst corner in the league right now.”

“What’s the point in trying to publicly disrespect someone?” Parsons said, addressing the situation. “He’s no longer a star agent… Just say goodbye and wish him the best. I don’t see why every breakup has to be negative!”

Parsons followed up with a light-hearted comment, using emojis, about losing a key player and how that impacts the team’s defense. He reflected on a press conference where the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator discussed the trade just before the season kicked off.

Just an hour later, Parsons aimed a fresh critique at Jones. In return for Parsons, the Packers traded two first-round picks—one each for 2026 and 2027—and defensive tackle Kenny Clark, known for his past performance before an injury sidelined him this season.

After the trade, Parsons secured a hefty four-year, $188 million extension. As it stands, the Cowboys are struggling with a record of 7-8-1 and won’t make it to the playoffs, while the Packers are positioned to enter as a wild-card team with a 9-6-1 record.

In the weeks leading up to the trade, negotiations between Parsons and the Cowboys were tense, with the player requesting a trade in August and Jones adamantly refusing to let him go.
