Micah Parsons is back in Dallas as a player for the Green Bay Packers this Sunday.

Big Matchup Ahead for Cowboys and Packers

This Sunday, the Dallas Cowboys will face off against the Green Bay Packers at AT&T Stadium, marking an intriguing return for former player Micah Parsons, now with the Packers. Given the buildup around the game, it promises to be a highlight on Fox’s “America’s Game of the Week.”

Instead of supporting the Cowboys, Parsons finds himself in the role of pursuing quarterback Dak Prescott. It’s a challenging position, and he admits that the emotional stakes are high. “It’s going to be painful,” he confessed regarding the prospect of going against Prescott. “He’s a fantastic leader to me. But, you know, he did say if I ever faced him it would be a great matchup. So, I’m curious to see how it goes on Sunday.”

Parsons, despite the buzz surrounding this homecoming, approaches it like any other match. “I accepted my path when the trade occurred,” he shared. “To me, it’s just another game, and I intend to do my best. I feel like the hype from fans and media is a bit exaggerated.”

Parsons’ Trade and Impact

His trade was a major talking point right before the season began. Many speculated that Parsons would sign a long-term deal with the Cowboys, but owner Jerry Jones ultimately respected his request for a trade. Green Bay brought him on board, giving up first-round picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL Drafts and also adding defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Upon joining the Packers, Parsons became the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history, reportedly securing a four-year contract worth $188 million, with $136 million guaranteed.

Questions have arisen in Dallas following the trade. The Cowboys’ defense has seen better days, starting the season shaky, and they currently sit at 1-2 after last week’s defeat against the Bears. The Packers, on the other hand, are 2-1, despite an unexpected loss in Cleveland. Throughout three games, Parsons has made an impact with 1.5 sacks and five combined tackles, contributing to a strong defensive line.

Reflecting on his teammates and support, Parsons feels a sense of pride. “It’s an honor to share the field with such a talented group. Everyone is focused on winning and performing well,” he said. “We’ve done well so far, and I’m hopeful we can maintain that level.”

For Parsons, it may just be another game, but for Cowboys fans, it’s the return of a star they once cherished. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 pm on Sunday.
