New Orleans – If Saquon Berkley was a giant that used to be, then his best friend, Mika Parsons, is a giant that never happened.
The Giants handed the infamous drafting of Parsons in 2021, trading from the No. 11 pick, allowing the Pennsylvania star to skate to the Cowboys.
The Giants chose Tony of Bust Cadarius at No. 20, and with potential Bust Evan Neal, with additional first round picks obtained from the bear.
“I will never forget that,” Parsons posted on Thursday at the Super Bowl 2025 Radio Row. “To be honest, I'm playing next to Dexter Lawrence, so I'm probably already having 60 career sacks. He's a Dawg.”
The 60 is not a stretch considering Parsons already has 52.5 bags in four seasons with the Cowboys.
However, Parsons' frequently double and triple team respect for Lawrence is still retained and serves as advice to Kayvon Thibodeaux.
“If I were Cavon, I would line up with Dexter Lawrence every time and make the best moves every time,” Parsons said. “You have to be ten bags of guys. I'll line up next to Dexter because there's no way they can put them. [just] Dexter Lawrence's hands. You are talking about nose tackle holding nine bags in nine games. You have to be serious. ”
Parsons was promoting the EA Sports Madden Bowl. This puts two game expert finalists against each other on a $1 million prize money at Orpheum Theatre on Friday night.
Parsons plays a lot of Madden on his own, but it's safe to say he's not picking the Giants as his team after a fiasco on draft night.
“The Giants lied to me,” Parsons later told CBS Sports. “People don't know this. They told me that if I fell to 11th, they were going to choose me. I swear, so I punish the Giants every time. It's personal with them.”
Parsons' comments were a reversal of what he said before about not having a draft-based grumble against the Giants.
League sources then asked the Giants and other teams, led by general manager Dave Gettleman and head coach Joe Judge, about the appearance of Parsons off-field characters, and he was already off the board. He told the Post he wanted to be there. By number 11.
The Cowboys traded from 10th to 12th, still landing Parsons. He had been on for 12 consecutive seasons before returning to 2024.
Former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is currently calling the shots in place of Mike McCarthy.
“I don't think this is a surprise,” Parsons said. “We tend to hire more familiar faces. We just want to play disciplined football. …At that point, we can win a lot of football games.”
The Giants and Cowboys missed the playoffs, but the Eagles and manager of NFC East met in the NFC Championship Game.
“We can turn that around right away,” Parsons said. “We beat the playoff team. Come, Should, dome League, right? But we're not just a team that's a rollover. We're a team that competes even without half of us. [injured] starter. There are several players and you play. ”
