Packers Star Micah Parsons Injured in Game Against Broncos
Micah Parsons’ worst fears were realized on Monday. The standout pass rusher suffered a non-contact injury to his left foot during the third quarter of the Packers’ 34-26 defeat to the Broncos, and it turned out to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament, according to the team’s announcement.
Following the Week 15 loss, which dropped Green Bay’s record to 9-4-1, there was an unsettling anticipation regarding Parsons’ condition. Head coach Matt LaFleur was grim about the situation, stating, “He doesn’t look good. I’ll leave that aside.”
This injury is a major setback for the Packers, who were hoping to make a run for the Super Bowl after acquiring the four-time Pro Bowler from the Cowboys in a significant trade this past August.
This season marks Parsons’ first with the Packers, and he has made a notable impact so far, recording 17 solo tackles and 12.5 sacks through 14 games.
As of Monday, Green Bay is currently seated at No. 7 in the NFC playoff standings. They have an important matchup against the Bears, who lead the NFC North with a record of 10-4, coming up on Saturday night.
