Michael Alfonso Responds to James Carville’s Warning on Far-Left Progressives

Wisconsin Congressional candidate Michael Alfonso was featured on “Fox & Friends First” to discuss the crucial preliminary results shaping the upcoming midterm elections. He addressed veteran Democrat strategist James Carville’s cautions regarding far-left progressives like Hasan Piker. With inflation and economic worries at the forefront for voters, Alfonso articulated why conservative solutions appeal to everyday Americans.

Michael Alfonso, who is related to Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, has secured the Republican nomination for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District.

The 26-year-old candidate, backed by former President Donald Trump, outperformed a diverse group of contenders for the Northern Wisconsin state House seat, previously held by his father-in-law from 2011 to 2019.

On the eve of Election Day, Trump shared his endorsement on Truth Social, calling Alfonso a “MAGA warrior” and a rising star. He promised that Alfonso would work diligently to boost the economy, lower taxes, support farmers and ranchers, promote American-made initiatives, leverage U.S. energy resources, secure borders, combat immigration crime, uphold military commitments, protect election integrity, and defend the Second Amendment, which he noted is often under threat.

Democratic Response as Socialist Candidate Falls Short in Primary

Currently, the seat is occupied by Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-Wis.), who has just won the Republican nomination in the Wisconsin gubernatorial race. Tiffany initially secured his position in a special election in May 2020 after Duffy resigned due to personal health issues in the family.

The 7th District has been solidly Republican for 15 years, according to the Cook Political Report. In the 2024 presidential election, Trump captured about 60% of the votes in that district.

Both Parties Prepare for Midterm Battles

Alfonso will compete against Fred Clark, the winner of the Democratic primary, in the upcoming November elections. Clark, a former congressman from Wisconsin, has expressed his belief that northern Wisconsin can form a new rural majority.

Clark emphasizes on his website that this emerging majority is not defined by old ideological battles on either side, but rather consists of real community members. He aims to be a representative voice for these constituents in Congress.
