Michael Alfonso, a candidate for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District, shared with Breitbart News on Saturday that voters are eager for Congress to support President Donald Trump’s initiatives.
Alfonso, who has received an endorsement from Trump and is married to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy’s daughter, expressed his gratitude for Trump’s backing, stating he feels “very humbled” and is committed to “always working to repay that support.”
Trump referred to Alfonso as a “lifelong winner,” noting his strong family background and offering his “full and complete support” for Alfonso’s representation of Wisconsin’s 7th District.
While campaigning with his wife, Evita, Alfonso mentioned that many constituents are looking for action and are frustrated with Congress for not providing the necessary support to the President.
Alfonso praised Trump for effectively using executive orders and managing border issues. However, he warned that progress could be easily reversed “with the stroke of a pen” if Trump is no longer in office in three years.
He pointed out the absence of the SAVE Act and showed determination to prioritize similar initiatives in the future.
When questioned about Trump’s dealings related to Iran, Alfonso expressed strong support, describing Trump as “a president of peace” and asserting that under his leadership, there would be an end to “forever wars.”
Alfonso further emphasized that “only President Trump can denuclearize Iran in this short period” while also helping to “lower gas prices,” praising Trump’s negotiation skills.
He described Trump’s agreement with Iran as possessing “the beauty of this peace deal,” although he noted it was more of a “memorandum of understanding” than a comprehensive agreement.
Alfonso suggested that this understanding communicates to Iran the potential benefits of participating in the global economy if they adhere to certain regulations, while also asserting that the U.S. is “better off now than it was under the Biden administration.”
When the conversation shifted to Democratic campaign themes of affordability, Alfonso criticized Democrats for promoting leftist policies, referring to their messages as “the big left-wing lie of my lifetime.” He suggested that their focus on the middle class masked underlying Marxist ideologies.
Alfonso recounted the unrest in Wisconsin during former Governor Scott Walker’s term, labeling the recall effort as the initial stages of “Marxist attacks” in the state and characterizing protests during that period as attempts to intimidate.
He also cited the extensive property damage during the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests and criticized media portrayals that downplayed the violence.
Highlighting comments from Zoran Mamdani regarding the Democratic Party’s shift towards “full-fledged Marxism,” Alfonso cautioned voters about policies like a “wealth tax,” which are claimed to target the wealthy but may affect more than just the affluent.
“The choice is easy,” Alfonso stated, contrasting the values of free-market American conservatism with Marxism.
Regarding the upcoming 2026 midterm elections, Alfonso acknowledged the typical trends but believed Republicans might “defy history” and either maintain or grow their congressional influence. He noted that some media narratives about a “blue wave” seem less accurate when engaging directly with voters.
“We’re in the parade line,” Alfonso remarked, indicating that the public perceives Democrats as a party focused on property confiscation, controversial bathroom policies, and police defunding.
He confidently proclaimed that this message is not conducive to success, reinforcing the view of Republicans as the party of free markets, family values, and conservatism.
Alfonso expressed optimism about Republican prospects for November, confidently asserting that he believes not just in winning but in being “the front-runner to keep the House.”
