Michael Bolton is spending Christmas with his family while focusing on his health.

On Wednesday, the 71-year-old shared a photo on Facebook of himself relaxing on a couch with his loved ones.

“Let's have a new start and beautiful moments in 2025!” the “When a Man Loves a Woman” singer added.

Bolton told fans in January that he had been diagnosed with a brain tumor.

“Just before the holidays, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor and needed emergency surgery,” he wrote on Facebook. “Thanks to my amazing medical team, the surgery was a success.”

Bolton also announced that he would be “temporarily taking a break from touring.”

“It's always the hardest thing for me to disappoint fans or have shows postponed, but I have no doubt that I will be working hard to accelerate my recovery and get back to performing soon.” wrote.

“I am so grateful for all the love and support you have generously shown me over the years. Please know that I will keep your positive messages in my heart. We will provide you with further updates as soon as possible.”

Bolton did not provide further details about the brain tumor or his symptoms.

According to Bolton's website, Bolton will begin touring in February and perform throughout 2024.

Last year, Bolton told People magazine that his album Spark of Light was a way to spread positivity during a difficult time.

“We were basically observing our friends and family, and we realized that they all really needed light, and that it was so dark and oppressive, and that basically we all needed light every day. “I just had this layered fear of the coronavirus pandemic,” Bolton said, reflecting on the coronavirus pandemic.

“Then we started to feel a sense of responsibility to deliver all that hope and promise and elusive emotion, and it started to become a feel-good record.”

Bolton explained that after a successful career in the music industry, he found his greatest joy in family life.

“I am filled with even more love and pride for my daughters as they raise their own families,” Bolton said. “My loved ones bring me so much happiness… What is important never changes. Love is the most important thing, the center of the universe. There is nothing more.”

Bolton said he took himself “too seriously” early in his career. But things are different now.

“When you let things go, the fun starts…I don't feel like it's about to slow down yet,” Bolton said.

According to People magazine, the singer canceled a series of concerts scheduled for October due to health reasons. Mr Bolton said he was “not quite 100% yet” and was still “on the road to recovery”.

“It's been challenging and often frustrating because I just want to perform in front of you all, but I need some more time to fully regain my strength and stamina,” he wrote on Facebook. “My progress has been good and I’ve been able to work a little bit on some exciting projects, which I will share with you soon.”
