Actor Michael Douglas is now expressing deep concern about Joe Biden’s cognitive health – a stark change from just a few months ago, when the Hollywood star made misleading statements about the president’s mental capacity.
Wednesday on ABC sceneryDouglas was asked for his reaction to co-star George Clooney’s calls for Biden to voluntarily withdraw from the campaign.
“I think that’s a valid point,” Douglas said. “I’m deeply, deeply concerned. It’s especially difficult because the Democratic Party has a large congressional base. They have a lot of big names.”
But in late April, Douglas defended Biden in a CNN interview against questions about Biden’s mental state. Fareed Zakaria GPS.
“Well, I guess the way I walk is a bit like him. [Biden]”And everyone I’ve talked to and everyone I know says he’s got a quick mind. He’s doing well,” he said.

The “quick-witted” myth, clearly invented by Democrats, was circulated in mainstream media in the months leading up to Biden’s humiliating debate performance, with various commentators dismissing concerns about the president’s cognitive state and claiming he was “quick-witted” or “quick-witted.”

Douglas recently GQ The interview was conducted to promote the Apple TV+ limited series. FranklinThe play dramatizes Benjamin Franklin’s years in France from 1776 onwards.
“I was immediately shocked. He’s like 70 years old. In 1800 in the UK and the US, the average life expectancy was 39 years. It gives me a lot of faith in Joe Biden and reminds me that we can live a lot longer than we thought,” the actor said.
Douglas hosted a major fundraiser for Biden in April with his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and the couple donated $100,000 to the Biden Victory Fund for the honor of hosting the event.
Hollywood donors are abandoning the Biden campaign in droves.
George Clooney, Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, veteran studio president Barry Diller, and lost creator Damon Lindelof. On Sunday, Rob Reiner, one of Hollywood’s staunchest Biden supporters, called on the president to “step down.”
