Michael Irvin Reacts to Micah Parsons Trade Rumors

What a surprise, huh?

Michael Irvin found himself in a bit of an awkward position after Micah Parsons, a player for the Cowboys, was reportedly “guaranteed” during a segment on “NFL Live” on ESPN. This all happened on Thursday, and it seems his confidence might have been misplaced.

Parsons is at the center of trade rumors involving two first-round picks in 2026 and one in 2027, along with Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark moving from the Packers, as he reaches a new four-year, $188 million contract with Green Bay.

“You can report whatever you want, but there’s no way they can let Micah Parsons leave,” Irvin insisted. “This is typical negotiation stuff, you know? When I talked to Jerry [Jones] on my podcast, he mentioned someone told him to shove it. I mean, it honestly shocked me that conversations like this keep occurring in this context. ”

Irvin doubled down later in the clip, reiterating, “I assure you that Micah Parsons isn’t going anywhere. Jerry isn’t that out of touch. This is just part of the negotiation,” he added, suggesting that the situation might be more complicated behind the scenes.

There’s been a lot of chatter lately about Parsons potentially moving to Green Bay.

Negotiations didn’t bear any fruit, and Parsons sat out of training camps, even calling for a trade back on August 1st. That’s a bold move, considering the stakes involved.

Jones, who is both the owner and general manager of the Cowboys, later told reporters that the deal represented the team’s “biggest success.” This really makes you wonder what their thought process is, right?

Irvin, clearly shaken, released a full video on his YouTube channel, expressing his shock about the situation. “This is really what I feared,” he said. “We’re crossing lines here—it’s not just about football anymore; it’s personal and it’s wearing on me.”
