Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. Ties the Knot

The offseason was particularly meaningful for Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. He and his fiancée, Olivia Carter, recently announced their marriage in a joint Instagram post, revealing they got hitched in Georgia last Saturday.

In the post, they shared the phrase, “Till death do us part,” accompanied by a diamond ring emoji and a carousel of wedding photos.

The couple tied the knot at Chateau Elan, a winery and resort located in Braselton, Georgia. One poignant photo captured Penix, dressed in a black tuxedo and bow tie, wiping away happy tears at the altar.

Carter, also 26, donned a strapless white gown featuring a corset top. She played soccer at the University of Nevada, Reno, graduating in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

The wedding was attended by Penix’s Falcons teammates, including running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts, as reported.

Another Instagram photograph featured not only the players but also some officials, such as former Falcons general manager Terry Fontenot, who was let go after the 2025 season.

The celebrations didn’t stop there; Penix’s birthday followed shortly after—he turned 26 on Friday. Carter took to her Instagram Story to celebrate her new role as a wife, sharing some joyful moments.

One post read, “I’m so happy to celebrate you as my wife today!!!” with a picture of them playfully wearing cowboy hats.

In another, she wrote, “Forever,” showing a candid moment of Penix at the grill during the reception.

Penix, who was selected eighth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft, also shared Carter’s loving message on his Instagram Story, where she expressed, “I love you, Mr. Penix,” complete with a heart emoji.

The couple got engaged in 2024 after meeting during their football days at the University of Washington.

Now, as for his career, Penix is currently rehabbing from a torn ACL surgery he underwent last November. He aims to be ready for Week 1 and will be vying for the starting role against veteran Tua Tagovailoa, who recently signed with Atlanta on a one-year, $1.3 million deal after leaving the Miami Dolphins.
