Michael Pitt, known from ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ taken into custody on various sexual abuse charges

Michael Pitt, known for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire” and “Dawson’s Creek,” was arrested in New York City on several serious charges, including sexual abuse, strangulation, and sodomy. The 44-year-old actor faced these allegations during an appearance at Kings’ Supreme Criminal Court in Brooklyn on May 2. He was charged with multiple counts, including two first-degree sexual abuse charges, third-degree sodomy, and blunt object assault, to which he pleaded not guilty. The court set his bail at $100,000.

Pitt managed to post bail, allowing his release from custody, and is expected back in court on June 17. His representation has yet to provide a comment regarding the situation.

As reported by the New York Post, the charges involve claims from an ex-girlfriend and stem from four separate incidents that occurred between April 2020 and August 2021. There are accusations suggesting the actor violently attacked her using objects like wooden planks and cinder blocks at his home in Bushwick.

In response to these allegations, Pitt’s lawyer, Jason Goldman, expressed disbelief, suggesting that Pitt is being wrongly accused and that the claims emerged suspiciously years later, despite the two having been in a consensual relationship at the time. Goldman is confident the case will be dismissed.
