A Democrat Michigan representative announced Wednesday that he had been sterilized earlier this year to avoid pregnancy under the Trump administration. It has been reported.

Poftsky made the announcement while talking to hundreds of left-wing protesters on the lawns of the Michigan State Capitol. The protest was one of 50 protests planned nationwide on Wednesday, organized by the 50501 movement.
Several protesters warned that fascism, the Nazis, coups and others criticised Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), according to the report.
“We need to demand that elected officials at all levels stop pretending that this is politics as usual,” Pochtsky said. “It's time for all elected officials to force the matter rather than surrender preemptively.”
Michigan voters praised their state constitution in 2022, making abortion, birth control and sterilization (among other reproductive issues) a “fundamental rights” to make them “a basic rights.” Trump has also repeatedly stated that abortion is a state issue after the Supreme Court dobbs Overning decisions Roev. Still, Democrats ran a massive fear campaign on abortion during the 2024 election cycle, reporting that after Trump's victory, the left wing bands are receiving stockpiles of sterilization and abortion pills.
