Former Michigan Wolverines defenseman Craig Law passed away on Monday after a private battle with colon cancer, his wife announced.
He was 33 years old.
“We wanted to let all of Craig’s followers know that God brought Craig home on Monday, February 26th after an 18-month battle with Stage IV colon cancer.”th” his widow Chelsea wrote on her X account on Wednesday. “Craig hasn’t been very public about his battles because he really just wanted to focus on providing the best content and building the best product possible. I have given you my business schedule, so please pay attention.”
He joined the Wolverines in 2008 after being a four-star player at Chaparral High School and being named Arizona’s Gatorade Player of the Year.
Roh, who played at the University of Michigan from 2009 to 2012, set a program record by starting 51 consecutive games.
His most memorable play may have been late in a 67-65 triple-overtime win over Illinois State in 2010.
As Illinois attempted a two-point conversion to take the game to a fourth overtime, Roh pushed QB Nathan Schielhaas out of the pocket, leading to an incomplete pass.
Roh Moo-hyun was named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2011 and All-Big Ten Second Team in 2012.
“Saddened to hear of the passing of former defensive end Craig Roe, our program’s all-time leader in career starts,” University of Michigan head coach Sherone Moore tweeted. “Our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time. The entire Roh Moo-hyun family is in my thoughts and prayers, and peace and comfort to all who knew this great Wolverine.” I hope so.”
Former NFL star Taylor Lewan, a high school and college teammate of Roh Moo-hyun, mourned the death of his roommate.
“Without Craig, I would never have had the opportunity to live the life I have now,” Lewan said. said in X. “I would never go to college, I would never go to the NFL, I would never sit in the position I’m in right now. I mean, Craig Law really, really took over my life. It changed me for the better.
“My heart aches for his wife Chelsea and their young son who will have to grow up without a father. Everyone who knew Craig knows that he was a fundamentally good person and no matter what his circumstances, he I knew him to be a good person who always did his best.”
Former Michigan teammates also paid tribute to their fellow Wolverine.
“I love you brother,” wrote wide receiver Roy Roundtree, who played for the Bengals. “I’m so sorry to hear this. I wish you all the best. You were the man, and your film will live on forever.”
Punter Zoltan Mesko, who played for three NFL teams, including the Patriots, wrote, “Rest in Peace, Craig.” Your passion, your goals, and most importantly, your passion, your passion, and the love you have for me and countless others.” Thank you for the impact you have had.”
Roh Moo-hyun signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2013, but did not appear in any regular season games.
He went on to play for three teams in the Canadian Football League, winning the CFL’s Gray Cup with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.
