Michigan woman learns of $207,199 lottery prize from email in spam folder

A Michigan woman found out she’d won a $207,199 lottery prize after receiving a suspicious email in her spam folder.

The winner, a 54-year-old Macomb County resident who wished to remain anonymous, initially ignored the email because he was unaware that his name had been automatically entered into the drawing for the BIG CA$H Second Chance Jackpot Prize.

“I didn’t know that you could earn entries into the Second Chance Drawing by playing certain games online, so I was confused when I found an email in my spam folder from the Michigan Lottery telling me I had won a BIG CA$H Second Chance jackpot prize of $207,199,” the woman said. told the Michigan Lottery.

However, further investigation revealed that she had in fact won.

“I looked into it and found out how I was able to apply and triple checked the email to make sure it was genuine,” she said.

“This huge win couldn’t come at a better time,” she added.

She plans to use the extra income to pay some bills and make some investments.

A portion of every purchase made on certain Michigan Lottery online games contributes to a progressive jackpot prize, which is awarded in the second drawing each month.

For every $0.50 wagered on the game, players will receive one entry.

According to the lottery, since the BIG CA$H Second Chance Game launched in 2022, players have won more than $8 million in progressive prizes.
