Driving School and DMV Employees Accused of License Fraud

A driving school in Queens is reportedly involved in a collaboration with three Staten Island DMV workers to orchestrate a driver’s license fraud scheme.

T&E Driving School, located in Flushing, is accused of working with DMV personnel who conducted driving tests, allowing customers to pay $2,000 for a fraudulent driver’s license without proper testing. This information was shared by NBC 4 New York.

It is alleged that the school and DMV employees coordinated to arrange road tests with impostors.

Richmond County District Attorney Michael McMahon expressed concerns on Tuesday, suggesting that there may be hundreds or potentially thousands of drivers who obtained licenses without the necessary road tests.

“Too many people have acquired their driver’s licenses through theft and corruption,” McMahon stated. “We are sharing the roads with individuals who might not have demonstrated the skills needed for safe driving.”

Investigators are presently working alongside the DMV to locate drivers operating with fake licenses.

“I believe this is just the tip of the iceberg,” McMahon noted.

In the meantime, three DMV employees and four individuals connected to T&E Driving School are facing several charges, including forgery, tampering with records, and identity theft, as reported by NBC 4 New York.

According to George Ioanidis of Homeland Security Research, T&E used social media and targeted marketing to reach out to members of the Chinese community, facilitating license acquisition without regard for immigration status, language proficiency, or actual driving skills.

This fraudulent driver’s license scheme is not limited to New York City.

As highlighted last month by Breitbart News, police in Florida uncovered a similar operation involving two DMV workers who sold commercial driver’s licenses to nearly 1,000 undocumented immigrants.
