Migrants with Deportation Orders Ten Times More Likely to Be Suspected of Murder

Recent data from Germany’s Alternative for Germany (AfD) indicates that approximately 130 foreign nationals slated for deportation in 2024 have not been charged with murder.

It appears that foreign nationals who do not face deportation orders are significantly more likely to be accused of violent crimes against life compared to the general population in Germany. This data includes serious charges such as murder, manslaughter, and negligent homicide, encompassing both accused and suspected individuals.

Out of a total of 3,895 charges for “crimes against life” in 2024, 2,405 were suspects who were German citizens. The remaining 1,490 involved foreigners, most of whom were legally in the country.

Among the 130 individuals in question, a narrower group of foreign nationals either live in Germany without legal status or face deportation orders that cannot be executed due to legal issues, referred to as “admissibility status.”

From this group, 32 have been charged with murder, 94 with manslaughter, and four with negligent homicide.

The data suggests that most murder accusations in Germany for 2024 involved German citizens. Yet, the statistics, when compared to Germany’s population of 83 million, raise concerns.

It seems that foreign nationals are three times more likely than Germans to face charges for violent crimes, and those who are illegally in the country or have suspended deportation statuses are over ten times more likely to be suspects, especially given the number represented by the 130 individuals.

Sebastian Müntzenmayer, a senior member of the AfD, obtained these statistics from the German government. He criticized politicians for being complicit when deportable immigrants perish in Germany and advocated for aggressive deportation measures, urging those without legal status to leave immediately.

“The absence of effective asylum policies leads to fatalities,” he remarked. “Serious crimes committed by deportable individuals deeply erode trust in the legal system.”
