Miguel Sano burns self with heating pad in embarrassing Angels setback

The Los Angeles Angels’ season is becoming increasingly uncertain.

Infielder Miguel Sano, who has been out as he continues to deal with inflammation in his left knee, appears to have experienced a setback with the rebound. Burned my left knee after applying a heating pad “He left it on too long,” Angels manager Ron Washington said.

Sano is batting .262 with a .713 OPS this season, along with one home run and five RBIs.

The Dominican Republic native made his major league debut with the Minnesota Twins during the 2015 season and finished third in Rookie of the Year voting.

Sano was selected to the All-Star team in 2017 and remains with the Twins through the 2022 season.

The Angels lost 5-4 to the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday, dropping to 20-33 this season.

The Angels are already without Mike Trout and Anthony Rendon for the time being.
