Lifestyle choices of sports icons often come with a hefty price tag.

Mike Francesa, the well-known former WFAN host, recently sold his Long Island residence for a staggering $7.5 million. Details from Zillow indicate that the sale happened on a Wednesday, as reported by Newsday.

Having purchased the lavish Manhasset home in 2008 for $5.2 million, Francesa made a considerable profit from this sale, according to the property listing.

The estate sprawls over about 1.5 acres, featuring a main house of 7,204 square feet and a cottage equipped with a golf simulator, a kitchen, and two-and-a-half bathrooms, among other amenities.

With a total of 20 rooms, the mansion boasts five bedrooms, 11 bathrooms (seven full and four half), four fireplaces, as well as four patios and two walk-in closets. It also includes an elevator and an outdoor kitchen.

This impressive property, originally built in 1940 and renovated in 2009, offers tennis courts, bocce courts, a golf putting green, and a sizable 20-by-40 gunite pool.

Property taxes are reported to be $74,818.

Francesa’s attempts to sell the mansion span several years, initially listing it for $10.5 million in 2023, subsequently reducing it to $9.5 million in 2024, and then $8.6 million by June 2025, according to Zillow.

Both parties finalized the deal on April 23, as per the listing.

A native of Long Island, Francesa grew up in Long Beach and graduated from St. John’s University. He expressed intentions in 2019 to eventually move to Florida once his kids—Jack, Emily, and Harrison—went off to college.

By 2026, all three children will have completed at least some college education.

Francesa, a prominent figure in New York sports radio, currently hosts his own podcast after a celebrated career exceeding 30 years at WFAN, which began in 1989. He’s particularly recognized for co-hosting the renowned “Mike and the Mad Dog” show with Chris Russo.
