Former Vice President Mike Pence congratulated President-elect Donald Trump on his victory.

Pence congratulated Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) in an X post on Wednesday. He also praised Republicans in both the U.S. House and Senate who won Tuesday's elections.
“The American people have spoken. Karen and I offer our heartfelt congratulations to President-elect Donald Trump and his family on his election at age 47.”th President of the United States. I would also like to extend my congratulations to Vice President-elect J.D. Vance and his family on their inauguration as Vice President of the United States.”
Pence continued, “I congratulate the newly elected members of the Republican majorities in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives and look forward to their efforts to renew America's security, prosperity, and respect for life. ” he continued.
“We continue to pray for all those in power, and we ask all Americans to join us for the next president, vice president, and elected officials at all levels,” Pence said in the post. I call on you to pray.”
The post by Pence, who served as governor of Indiana from 2013 to 2016, comes after the disgruntled former vice president criticized Trump during the 2024 campaign. Pence said he could not “in good conscience” support Trump's re-election.
The rift between Pence and Trump began in 2021 when Pence refused to block the certification of the 2020 presidential election results on January 6th.th A demonstration at the Capitol that Pence said he did not have the authority to do.
Pence sought the Republican nomination this election cycle, but was ultimately defeated by Trump in the race.
