IMPACT Wrestling Recap: Santana vs. Young and Moose’s Return

Mike Santana has been a dominant force in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), but he faced a major challenge recently from the seasoned Eric Young during an episode of IMPACT.

Young earned a title shot after winning a battle royal a few weeks back. He made an immediate impact against Santana, who is the TNA World Champion, by executing a piledriver and demonstrating a strong emotional response during the match. There was a moment when it seemed Young might actually pull it off, getting close with some near falls.

However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for Young. Santana landed a spectacular double underhook toss from the top rope, reminding everyone why he’s at the top. Even with some momentum, chaos ensued. The referee got knocked down, which complicated things further. Young tried to keep his eyes on victory but ended up making a costly mistake when he accidentally struck the referee.

Despite the rough patches, Santana found his rhythm. After hitting a spin move—though the referee was still out—he attempted to revive him. But that was when Young kicked him low. Then, Young used the title belt against Santana, followed by another piledriver. It was a very tense moment.

With the referee finally back in action, Santana managed to grab the ropes just in time to break the pin count. In a twist of fate, Ricky Sosa showed up, pulling Young’s focus away just long enough for Santana to pull off a roll-up pin.

In the end, Santana retained his championship, but it was a match that left fans talking. Meanwhile, Nick Nemeth made his presence felt, teasing a title shot but decided to hold off until Slammiversary.

In a shake-up, Santana and Nemeth even teamed up to take down some opponents. However, Nemeth’s actions during the match might make Santana think twice about trusting him moving forward.

On a different front, Moose made a notable return after weeks away. Recently, he confronted The System, who had attacked him from behind, and announced he would face Eddie Edwards at Slammiversary, stirring excitement among fans.
