Mike Tomlin's sharp reaction to Aaron Rodgers' poor game against the Steelers

A Memorable Game for Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers experienced an unforgettable game, but perhaps not for the reasons he would have liked. The Steelers quarterback struggled significantly in a 25-10 loss to the Chargers, marking one of his toughest outings of the season—and maybe even his career.

A touchdown in the final moments salvaged his statistics to some degree, yet he still ended the night with just 161 passing yards, a single touchdown pass, two interceptions, and a rather dismal passer rating of 50.6.

Completing 16 out of 31 passes, Rodgers faced a particularly rough fourth quarter. At one point, his passer rating dipped to 19.5, and his yardage remained below 100. It was a grim performance, pushing him close to his career low of 34.3, which he recorded against the Bills back in 2014.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin offered limited feedback on Rodgers’ performance, striking a somewhat neutral tone. In answering a reporter who asked for his assessment on the aging quarterback’s play, he simply replied, “What would you do?” before quickly moving on to the next question.

Earlier in the game, Rodgers found himself sacked in the end zone during the first quarter when Khalil Mack took him down, allowing the Chargers to score first. An interception thrown while targeting DK Metcalf in the first half also set up the Chargers for another touchdown.

By halftime, Rodgers had managed to throw only 7 completions out of 14 attempts for a mere 64 yards. With this defeat, the Steelers now hold a record of 5 wins and 4 losses and will face the Bengals, who are currently 3-6, next week.
