Mike Tyson answered kid reporter’s legacy question with existential nihilism

Mike Tyson is back in the spotlight with his fight against YouTube prankster Jake Paul, which will air on Netflix on Friday. Tyson, 58, is far from his prime when he was one of the most ferocious boxers of all time. This match with Paul will give young fans of the sport who were not born to be the undisputed heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 a chance to learn about his career.

The pre-match build-up between Tyson and Paul was full of mischief. Paul stepped on Tyson's toe with his shoe on during the weigh-in. Tyson responded with a slap in the face.. Not only does Paul have an age advantage over Tyson at 31 years old, but he also has a five-inch longer reach. But what he lacks is the wisdom that comes with age.

Tyson was interviewed by Kids Reporter this week and asked the former champion what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind when it's all over. Tyson's answer is…incredible. Just take a look:

“Legacy is not without meaning,” Tyson begins. “It's just passing by. I'm going to die and it's going to be over. Who cares about the legacy?”

“We are nothing. You are dead. We are dust. We are nothing at all. Our heritage is nothing.”

The boy reporter handled this very calmly. If Tyson and Paul's boxing match is as entertaining as this interview makes, fans will be in for a hell of a fight.
