Mike Tyson Talks Foot Fungus on “Jimmy Kimmel Live”

Mike Tyson shared that the fungus on his foot had become severely problematic, describing it as a “collapsing amount” and noting that his toes looked like they were “exploding.” During a recent appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” he explained why he often fought without socks back in his prime during the 1980s, stating, “It was really hardcore and I didn’t even have socks on.”

The 59-year-old Tyson admitted, “I’ve recently discovered just how disintegrating my foot fungus really is. It’s bad—still bad. I thought I had it under control, but it’s serious, dude.”

When Kimmel jokingly asked if foot fungus was his “biggest enemy,” Tyson didn’t hesitate to agree, remarking, “Yeah, I have to say that, because it still sucks.” Kimmel then humorously suggested that Tyson could star in a commercial for Dezenex, an antifungal foot powder aimed at treating athlete’s foot.

Tyson replied, “Dezenex can’t help me. It looks like my toe was blown off.” He also mentioned that he has an exhibition fight planned against Floyd Mayweather in 2026.

His last competitive match was against Jake Paul in November 2024, where Tyson lost by unanimous decision in an eight-round heavyweight bout. Reflecting on his health struggles leading up to that fight, Tyson revealed he almost died in June 2024 due to serious health issues, including a recurrence of an ulcer. He had undergone eight blood transfusions and lost a significant amount of weight in the hospital.

Despite the challenges, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity to fight again. “To have my kids watch me stand on my toes and go through eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age is an experience no one has the right to ask for. Thank you,” he concluded.
