Mike Tyson gives health update after plane scare

Mike Tyson says he has overcome the terrifying illness he contracted on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles but the thought of boxing with Jake Paul is still on his mind.

“I don’t have to be 100% to beat Jake Paul, but I am 100% right now.” Tyson, 57, posted on X This was about 48 hours after emergency medical staff forced him onto the plane after it landed.

The Post first reported that Tyson was diagnosed with nausea and dizziness “due to a worsening of an ulcer” 30 minutes before landing on Sunday.

According to reports, a message requesting medical help appeared on passengers’ screens on the plane. In Touch Weekly.

The situation reportedly caused a 25-minute delay in passengers being evacuated from the plane, and Tyson was a “very important passenger,” according to the report.

Tyson, who will soon be 58, is scheduled to face the 27-year-old Paul in July in an eight-round boxing bout sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Paul (7-1) said he plans to “finish off” Tyson, who hasn’t boxed professionally since June 2005.

Following the frightening emergency, which could have potentially jeopardised the match, Paul said “nothing has changed” regarding the status of the match.

“You guys love to make up bullshit before you know the facts for the sake of clicks and likes,” Paul continued.

The match will be broadcast live on Netflix on July 20 from Arlington, Texas.

“But my promise to the nation on July 20th is that I will put Mike to sleep and I will make him feel my power,” Paul said earlier this month. “I will go down in history as the man who put Tyson to sleep for the last time.”

Tyson is a +130 underdog at BetMGM, while Jake Paul is -150 in the return fight, assuming the bout happens.
