After Mike Tyson lost a decision to Jake Paul in November, Saudi government officials reportedly offered Tyson $700 million for a rematch.
As reported by multiple media outlets including MMA WeeklySaudi Arabian advisor and minister Turki Alarusik offered Tyson money if he was willing to take part in a “real” fight with Paul.
Aralsik is Current chairman He is a member of the board of directors of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority and is widely considered to have transformed the boxing world, usually by injecting large sums of cash.
“Jake Paul is a joke.”
The $700 million offer appears to have first been reported on the following Instagram page: FTTVquoted Alarusik as saying, “Jake Paul is a joke.”
Alarusik then warned that Tyson needed to knock out Paul within three minutes of the match in order to earn his prize money.
“I'll give Mike Tyson $700 million if he agrees to fight Jake Paul and wins by knockout in a maximum of three minutes,” Alarusik said.
It's hard to know whether the offer is genuine, considering Alarusik hasn't made any public comments about Tyson since promoting the fight online in November.
Saudis are not the only ones who appear to be dissatisfied with the results of the match on Netflix, with many celebrities saying they felt cheated by the results.
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who was seated in the second row at the event, called the event a “lie” and even theorized that there was a contract provision that prevented Tyson from throwing his signature punches. Ta.
“That fight was a lie,” Irvin insisted. “Everyone's lying. … They weren't really going to strap it on. When you look into it, there wasn't a single uppercut that Mike Tyson patented. What did Mike Tyson win with?
“He couldn't do body and uppercuts. How can you put that into a fight contract?” Irvin said.
At the same time, the huge offer for Tyson shows exactly what UFC President Dana White said is wrong with the current state of boxing.
Despite Mr. Alarusik's previous claim that he “intended to do so.”repairWhite said in October that the current boxing model “just doesn't work.” …It takes a Saudi billionaire to make boxing successful. ”
White's words were in response to claims that fighters are not being paid enough and that athletes, especially UFC fighters, could be paid more if they switched to boxing.
“Even the Saudi millionaires are tired of shitting cows. It's all a myth,” White said of the pay structure.
“Everyone who tries boxing ends up losing a lot of money.”
