Tragedy Strikes During Florida Vacation
A 20-year-old woman from New Jersey tragically passed away while enjoying a vacation with friends in Florida. Reports indicate that Victoria Zardoya died following a fall at Fort Dade, a historical site located on Egmont Key.
This remote island, situated at Tampa Bay’s entrance, is accessible only by boat. Zardoya was close friends with Milania Giudice, the daughter of Teresa Giudice, a star from “Real Housewives of New Jersey.”
Witnesses recounted that Zardoya fell from an abandoned building during their visit to the fort. A friend, Victoria Silverbush, shared details about the incident on social media, describing Zardoya’s injuries as severe. She expressed that “no one hesitated” to assist as soon as the fall occurred.
After the fall, the group called 911 and sent flares from their boat to alert authorities. Emergency responders arrived by boat, and a medical helicopter was dispatched to transport Zardoya to a hospital. Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Silverbush noted that although the situation was harrowing, everyone present acted quickly to help Zardoya. This incident has understandably shaken her friends, who have been sharing tributes and condolences across social media.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that they responded to the incident around 5 p.m. on Friday, and managed the situation until late that evening.
This heartbreaking event serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of life and the importance of safety, especially when exploring historical sites. The loss of a young life is always tragic, and the community is mourning for Zardoya and her friends during this difficult time.
