Military conducts airstrikes against Houthis in Yemen

The US military has acknowledged conducting airstrikes in Yemen and said they targeted missile storage facilities and command and control centers run by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the successful airstrike in a release on Saturday, saying it was aimed at “disrupting and degrading” Houthi operations.

“CENTCOM forces conducted deliberate attacks aimed at disrupting and degrading Houthi operations, including attacks on U.S. Navy warships and commercial vessels in the southern Red Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden.” CENTCOM said in a news release.

CENTCOM footage showed the F/A-18 taking off. The agency said it also used Navy and Air Force assets.
