A military plane crashed and burst into flames near Albuquerque International Airport in New Mexico on Tuesday afternoon, airport officials said.

ABQ Sunport said the plane crashed near the airfield on the south side of the airport.

Video from the crash scene appears to show a military fighter jet, but authorities have yet to confirm the exact model.

There was one passenger on board the plane, including the pilot.

ABQ Sunport said the pilot was conscious and taken to a hospital.

Meanwhile, flight operations have resumed.

“We appreciate the quick action of the emergency responders who arrived on the scene,” Albuquerque Mayor Tim Kilar said. “We are praying for the pilot.”
