President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of defense, Pete Hegseth, said the military would “be happy” if it could eliminate the woke absurdity introduced under President Biden's administration.
During a Q&A with Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), the senator discussed some of the issues within the military that the far left has accused of being “racist.” I asked Mr.
“I'm very grateful for the focus on lethality in war and combat. We desperately need that. Biden woke up a military that wasn't focused on readiness or lethality. I'd like to give you some examples and hear your comments on them,” Sullivan said.
“No one wants to have extremists or racists in our military, but as a senator on this committee and as a Marine Corps Reserve officer, I've seen what I've seen over the past four years. One of the most shameful and shameful events occurred on the first day of the Biden administration. “You have advanced a false and derogatory narrative that our military is full of racists and violent extremists,” he continued, asking Hegseth, “What are you doing in our military?” Do you believe that the military is a systemically racist organization? And if it is confirmed, will you commit to defending our troops without disrespect? ?”
Hegseth responded to senior Biden officials who disparaged the military, saying, “Senator, I was also offended by that comment. Anyone who has served on active duty in any National Guard unit, male or female, knows that it is fundamental. Because I understand that there is something wrong with that.”
what? ! Crazy Maisie Hirono tries to bully Hegseth into resigning after having a drink as a defensive sex.
“Do you agree that the U.S. military is one of the most forward-thinking organizations and probably one of the greatest civil rights organizations in American history?” Sullivan asked. Hegseth responded, “Absolutely.”
Sullivan also asked, “If the Secretary of the Navy chooses to focus more on climate change than on shipbuilding and lethality, will you promise me that you will fire him?”
“Just to be clear, just like the Secretary of the Air Force is not going to focus on algae-powered fighter jets or the Secretary of the Army, my Secretary of the Navy is not going to focus on climate change in the Navy.” It doesn’t focus,” Hegseth said when Sullivan asked another question.
“Another of the first things President Biden did as president was focus on transgender surgeries for active duty soldiers. This is what it's all about — I've been here for the last four years, waking up under the Biden administration. I'm talking about the military. If that were confirmed and you ripped the yoke of Biden's wakefulness off the military's neck and issued an order to focus on lethality and combat, how do you think the military would react? ” he asked.
“Senator, I know the troops are going to be happy. They're going to love it,” Hegseth said. “They're going to love it. And it's already showing in the hiring numbers. We've already seen a surge in hiring activity since President Trump won the election…”
Asked if the military would follow this order, Hegseth said he would be “happy” to do so, because “they focus on lethality and combat, and are focused on the woke political prerogatives of politically correct, social justice, political Because I want to eliminate everything from the military.”
