Millie Bobby Brown Embraces Life as a Georgia Resident
Millie Bobby Brown has expressed her appreciation for living in Atlanta as a way to establish deeper roots away from Hollywood. In a recent interview with British Vogue for their December issue, she shared that spending her formative years filming “Stranger Things” in Georgia made her decide to settle there permanently and start a family.
“This is the place I’ve stayed the longest in my life because of ‘Stranger Things.’ To me, this is home,” Brown explained, highlighting the connection she feels to the area. Although she was born in Spain, she moved to Florida with her parents before rising to fame with the Netflix series.
Her parents opted to move to Georgia rather than commute from California during the show’s production. Brown remarked, “They didn’t want me to grow up in that world.” She continued, sharing her love for acting but emphasizing that it does not solely define her identity. Instead, she finds purpose in her personal life too.
Currently, Brown lives on a farm with Jake Bongiovi, the son of Jon Bon Jovi. She emphasized that her decision to embrace farm life wasn’t about aesthetics or following trends, particularly those connected to the so-called “trad wife” movement. “I’m doing it because I love it,” she clarified, firmly stating that a genuine connection to the lifestyle is essential. “If you don’t pick up a horse or wash a cow with your bare hands, then that life was not made for you,” she added.
Brown noted the chaotic yet vibrant nature of her life on the farm. “You think the animals are peaceful… but it’s chaotic. My animals are loud and messy,” she said, highlighting the lively atmosphere filled with laughter and excitement that shapes her daily experiences.
The couple announced their engagement in April 2023 and tied the knot in May 2024, with Brown being 20 years old and Bongiovi 22 at the time. While their young marriage faced online scrutiny, Brown acknowledged her youth but defended their relationship passionately. “You’ll understand when you meet the person,” she said.
This past summer, they welcomed their daughter through adoption. Speaking on the “Smartless” podcast, Brown revealed that becoming a mother had always been a goal of hers, just as it was for her mother, who had her first child at a young age as well. “This was my goal even before I met Jake,” she admitted.
She described her adoption journey as beautiful, sharing that it has significantly altered her perspective on life. “Our days are filled with so many hugs and laughter and love,” she reflected. Together with Bongiovi, she strives for a parental partnership rooted in equal responsibility: “We’re 50-50 on everything,” she expressed.
While she hesitated to share details about her daughter’s personality, aiming to protect her daughter’s narrative until she’s ready, Brown noted the importance of allowing their child the space to decide how to share her story in the future. “It’s not my place to unwillingly or intentionally put her in the spotlight,” she mentioned.
As the premiere of Season 5 of “Stranger Things” approaches—set to release its first episode on November 26—Brown eagerly reflected on the adjustments motherhood has brought to her life while making the most of every moment with her family. “Whatever she needs, I’m there,” she said, sharing insights about the days filled with both joy and sleepless nights.
Fans eagerly await how this new chapter in Brown’s life, along with the anticipated final season of the beloved series, will unfold. The journey of balancing a vibrant home life and a high-profile career continues to shape her unique narrative.
