Police discovered millions of dollars worth of illegal marijuana products at a Brooklyn warehouse on Friday morning.
Police say they responded to a robbery in progress at 65 Adelphi St. around 5:30 a.m. and found three men inside the store and “large quantities of marijuana and THC products.”
According to the New York City Sheriff’s Department, the products were unregulated marijuana shipped from overseas and distributed to illegal marijuana stores across New York City. He told WABC.
Among the pre-packaged contraband was marijuana and THC gummies.
The department quoted a City Hall spokesman as saying this is one of the largest investigations into illegal cannabis sellers to date.
“Thanks to the tireless work of the NYC Sheriff’s Department and the NYPD, we conducted the largest raid on a marijuana distributor to date, seizing millions of dollars’ worth of products including edibles, e-cigarettes and pre-rolls,” the department said in a statement.
“At $50 for one small package of edible cannabis, it’s incredible the profits that can be made selling these untested illegal products,” Maureen Kokeas, commander of the New York City Sheriff’s Department, told the outlet.
Police said suspects Nigel Sandy, 37, of Brooklyn, Michael Davis, 37, and John Lane, 36, both of the Bronx, were arrested and charged with burglary and possession of burglary tools.
