Min Woo Lee: A Rising Star in Golf
Min Woo Lee, an Australian golfer, has had quite the busy season. He recently became a PGA Tour Winner for the first time, which is a significant milestone. On top of that, he’s been juggling his own golfing pursuits while supporting his sister, Minjee Lee, on the LPGA Tour. Plus, he’s taken on a new role in a league, which is a different challenge altogether.
Lee is one of four golfers representing Bay Golf Club. Along with Windham Clarke, Ludvig Aberg, and Shane Lowry, they made history as the league’s first silver medalists. While they had a memorable first game in TGL, they ended the season with a bit of disappointment after losing to the eventual champions.
Balancing life on the TGL and PGA Tour is no small feat. I was fortunate to meet with Min Woo this week to discuss his experiences. Our conversation was insightful—check it out below.
From the moment TGL began, I was intrigued. I mean, I enjoy golf and, well, you could say I’m part of the target audience. The idea of having all the action happen in an arena rather than on a traditional course is quite fascinating. Min Woo highlighted how the SoFi centers in Florida are vibrant and engaging. Interestingly, he mentioned that his swing speed might have reached 130 mph last year, likely due to the adrenaline from the atmosphere.
For Min Woo, Bay Golf Club is like a home base in TGL’s West Coast, and it’s impressive how much star power surrounds the team. Investors like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala, along with LPGA’s Rose Zhang, add to the excitement, especially since she’ll be competing against Minjee Lee.
Min Woo appreciates the chance to connect with such prominent figures. It’s all about the TGL spirit, which really offers golf fans something fresh alongside traditional competition. This setup allows players like him to collaborate, showcasing a team aspect of the sport that fans often don’t see.
Toward the end of our chat, I asked Min Woo to make his case for why I should support The Bay as my TGL team. His answer was simple: he wants to surround himself with the right players and investors who value having fun while winning.
It’s hard to argue against that sentiment. With Min Woo Lee at the helm, the future looks promising, especially as they gear up for TGL Season 2 in 2026.
