Mingus Reedus, child of 'Walking Dead' actor Norman Reedus and supermodel Helena Christensen, appeared in a New York City court.

Mingus Lucien Reedus, the 25-year-old son of “The Walking Dead” actor Norman Reedus and former Victoria’s Secret model Helena Christensen, is facing new legal troubles. He was arrested on Saturday after allegedly attacking his 33-year-old boyfriend, with additional charges being added later that night.

Originally taken into custody for third-degree assault and obstruction of breathing, Reedus was subsequently charged with reckless physical injury, aggravated harassment, and another count of harassment.

Prosecutors claim the incident began Friday evening when Reedus, appearing relatively calm in court, allegedly grabbed the victim and lifted them while restricting their airflow. The next morning, he reportedly kicked someone with whom he had a close relationship.

Reedus’s defense attorney, Priya Chaudhry—who has previously defended Marvel actor Jonathan Majors in a domestic abuse case—insisted that the bruises on the victim were not related to this incident. “I think it’s crucial to grasp what transpired,” she asserted in court. “He was worried about her.”

According to Chaudhry, her client had recently ended a five-month relationship, during which the victim suffered greatly, even reportedly taking sleeping pills in a suicide attempt. It was during this time that Reedus called 911, leading to his arrest.

The lawyer claimed that the victim, who subsequently moved out of their shared home, was “not afraid” of Reedus and had no intention of pursuing legal action.

Judge Elizabeth Shamas directed Reedus to stay away from the victims involved in the case.

Before exiting the courtroom, Reedus reportedly made derogatory remarks toward a reporter, calling her “ugly.”

Prior to this incident, Reedus had previously faced legal issues, including charges from a few months back when he allegedly assaulted a woman at the San Gennaro Festival in Little Italy. He had accepted a plea deal in March 2022 that required him to complete five counseling sessions and avoid further trouble for a year.

This latest incident will see Reedus return to court on Tuesday.
