"Minimal Hopes": Victor Davis Hanson Discusses How Kamala Harms Democrats More Than Biden

Political Analyst Discusses Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s Impact on Democrats

Victor Davis Hanson provided insightful commentary on Fox News regarding the former Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden’s influence on the Democratic Party. In an appearance on “Jesse Watters: Primetime,” guest host Charlie Hurt inquired about who poses a greater risk to the party: Harris or Biden. Without hesitation, Hanson indicated that Harris is the more significant concern.

He noted that Biden’s cognitive challenges could be attributed to the natural effects of aging, whereas Harris’s struggles with communication are more concerning. “Joe Biden has a limited time left; his expiration date is approaching, but she will be around for longer,” Hanson remarked. He added that Biden can at least argue that his cognitive decline is age-related, but Harris’s inconsistency has no such justification.

Interestingly, Hanson refrained from outright criticizing Harris, instead characterizing her as a potential liability for the Democrats.

“She struggles to communicate, and she is aware of it. Every time she speaks, there’s an underlying sense that she knows she might not express herself clearly,” he explained.

The conversation then shifted to Biden’s difficulties with communication. “Joe’s statements are often inconsistent. No one can really decipher what he means. The only time he seems animated is when he mentions Trump; then there’s this sudden burst of anger,” Hanson commented. “It’s a fleeting clarity that disappears almost immediately.”

Harris recently announced that she will not pursue the governorship of California but has left the door open for a potential presidential run in 2028. In her statement, she expressed enthusiasm for supporting Democrats nationwide and hinted at revealing more about her future plans soon.

Reflecting on the previous election, it’s worth noting that Harris did not win any of the crucial swing states and that during her own presidential campaign, she received no delegates, garnering only 844 votes in the Democratic primary, according to archived election data.
