Minneapolis-St. Paul restaurant owner shuts down business due to crime and gun violence.

The owner of a restaurant in Minneapolis, Brian Ingram, has decided to shut down his establishment, citing rampant crime and a lack of accountability from city officials as key reasons for his decision. Ingram, who operates several eateries, including the Apostles Evening Upper Club in St. Paul, expressed frustration, saying he feels compelled to speak out against the local leadership.

“Crime is just, well, it’s out of control,” he remarked during an appearance on “Fox & Friends.” “The fact that our city officials are not visibly addressing this – that’s it, we’re done.”

Ingram points to a breakdown in public safety, attributing it to a failure by local prosecutors, judges, and lawyers to hold offenders accountable.

Recently, four suspects were arrested following a series of mass shootings in Minneapolis, injuring one individual.

“We’ve reached a point where, as the DA and our city council and judges have more or less stopped prosecuting offenders, we decided to take a stand,” Ingram stated.

He also highlighted persistent interruptions and ongoing safety worries for both his staff and customers as driving forces behind his closure.

Ingram expressed his frustration, revealing it was even challenging to file a police report.

The Democratic mayor has faced backlash after promising to transform major cities into “safe shelters” for undocumented immigrants.

“When I called 911 last month, I was told by the dispatcher that no police could come to my business to take the report,” he said. “Of course crime rates seem to go down if you can’t actually file a report.”

According to the Minneapolis City Crime Dashboard, some offenses like assault and robbery have decreased since last year. However, the city has still seen significant violence, including a recent wave that left five dead and six injured in shootings, which police are investigating for possible gang involvement.

Ingram recounted his experience with a repeat offender who had robbed his restaurant multiple times despite being arrested numerous times.

Homan criticized Democrats for seemingly defending individuals with questionable pasts during scrutiny of deported immigrants.

“This person would get out of jail, come back, and rob me again within days or weeks – it’s just insane,” Ingram lamented.

In response to the recent violence, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara expressed his frustration and promised to increase police presence in the affected areas.

“The level of violence in this city over just one day is unacceptable,” he stated. “The impact of these actions is heartbreaking and tears at the fabric of our community.”

Business owners in Minneapolis face daunting obstacles such as crime and regulatory burdens.

While Ingram appreciated the police department’s commitment to address the issues, he emphasized that meaningful change requires action from elected officials as well.

“We need to unite as a community,” he said, expressing his weariness with a system that seems to tolerate crime. “If there’s a crime, there should be consequences.”

He called upon the Minneapolis St. Paul community to band together to support policies that emphasize public safety.

“Together, we can uplift our community and put a stop to the chaos,” Ingram urged. “It’s time for common sense to prevail.”
