Minnesota Links swapped its first round pick in 2026 WNBA In exchange for the Washington mystic, the draft moves Carly Samuelson forward. Samuelson is refreshing from his career season with Mystics, averaging 8.4 points per game, earning 3-39.8%, and 2.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.
In 2023, Samuelson was one of the WNBA’s best shooting games, joining Jackie Young, Chelsea Gray and Lexi Brown as the only player to shoot at least 45% from the field and 40% from the 3-point range.

The deal comes a day after Lynx sent the 2025 WNBA first round draft pick to Chicago Sky. In tandem, the move shows the team’s desire to add veterans who can now contribute to victory, rather than young prospects who may spend time developing.
Lynx has revived the core from last year’s final team. This is a group discovered by All-Star Guard Kayla McBride and Standout Guard defensive players from Napheesa Collier of the Year. Courtney WilliamsAlana Smith and the most improved player candidate Bridget Carlton. They also already have many young talents, including last year’s first round draft pick Alyssa Piri.

Meanwhile, the Washington mystic finds himself on the other side of the spectrum. They have picks 3, 4 and 6 in the first round of the 2025 WNBA Draft. There will also be a 23rd and 32nd pick in the 2025 draft.
As a result of their latest deal with Lynx, they now have additional options for next year’s draft, but the exact draft order has not yet been determined.
The 2026 draft is set to include outstanding figures like UCLA Center Lauren Betts. LSU Star Frauje Johnson, Reagan Beer from Oklahoma Center. Washington continues to build on young talent Aaliyah EdwardsShakira Austin and Emily Engsluter hold veteran players such as Britney Sykes and Stepha Needleson.
