Texas Artists Unite for Flood Relief Concert

Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum, both hailing from Texas, took to social media on Friday to announce the upcoming “Texas Flood Relief Concert.”

Lambert shared the news on her official Instagram and tagged McCollum, who also made an announcement online. “The Texans are supporting Texas. My partner @parkermccolum and I have reached out to some good friends to help us rebuild our home state,” she wrote.

The concert aims to benefit the Texas Hill Country and the Texas Community Foundation. This initiative comes in the wake of the severe flooding that hit central Texas on July 4, which tragically resulted in over 130 fatalities, with approximately 100 individuals still unaccounted for, according to reports.

The lineup for the event includes notable artists like Ryan Bingham, Wade Bowen, Kelly Clarkson, Ronnie Dunn, and several others, scheduled to perform on August 17th at the Moody Center in Austin.

Right now, tickets for “Band Gither Texas” can be accessed through a presale registration that opens at 5 PM on July 21st. Lambert urged fans to secure their tickets early to avoid missing out.

Aside from musicians, other Texans, including actors Dennis Quaid and Matthew McConaughey, are expected to attend and support the fundraising efforts. Additionally, former UT Longhorns coach Mac Brown and athletes like Colt McCoy and Vince Young are also set to make appearances.

Lambert expressed her appreciation for the supportive nature of both the artist and Texan communities, especially during challenging times like this. “It’s times of great need that people in my hometown face after the flood,” she mentioned.

McCollum also shared heartfelt sentiments regarding his commitment to his community, emphasizing the resilience of Texas. “There’s a long way to go to rebuild. Many families are facing unimaginable challenges, but we are Texas’ strength,” he conveyed in his Instagram post.

While the devastation is enormous, stories of solidarity and support shine through, highlighting the strength of the community as they come together for a cause that affects them deeply.
