Lauren Alaina Reflects on Meeting Miranda Lambert
Country musician Lauren Alaina recently shared a memorable encounter with Miranda Lambert that shaped her understanding of the music industry. During a recent TV appearance, Alaina was asked about the best advice she had received throughout her career and personal life, and she pointed to Lambert as a significant influence.
“I bumped into Miranda in the bathroom at the BMI Awards,” Alaina reminisced. “It was my first time meeting her, and she said, ‘Don’t let this town or anyone change who you are. You’re a sweet Southern girl, and you stay that way.'” She described the interaction as incredibly touching, mentioning she initially didn’t realize Lambert even knew who she was.
Alaina made her debut in the music scene at just 15, competing on “American Idol.” She reached the finals in 2011, ultimately finishing as the runner-up to Scotty McCreery.
In a related note, Lambert has also opened up about her interest in mounted shooting, an adrenaline-filled hobby she picked up recently. “I just started last year. I’m not very good at it, but I love it,” she shared on a podcast last October, explaining how a friend encouraged her to give it a try. It took a gentle push from her husband to motivate her to finally step out and experience the sport, which she now finds quite thrilling.
Mounted shooting, as described by the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, involves timed events where participants use two .45 caliber revolvers loaded with blank rounds. Scoring depends on time and accuracy, which makes it both challenging and exciting. It’s fascinating how these different experiences in the industry, combined with unique hobbies, can shape artists like Lambert and Alaina into who they are today.
