Montenegrin Officials Resign Amid Leaked Sex Tape Scandal
A leaked sex tape featuring two high-profile Montenegrin government officials—a married presidential aide and a notable subordinate—has led to their surprising resignations.
Recently, Mirjana Pajković, who previously headed the Human Rights Promotion and Protection Department within the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, made an announcement regarding her resignation.
The scandal erupted when a video appeared online depicting Pajković in a compromising situation with Dejan Vukšić, the former married chief of national security and an aide to President Yakov Milatović.
In her resignation statement, Pajković urged all women to speak out against violence instead of staying silent. She described a troubling encounter where Vukšić allegedly threatened her, asserting that he warned she would have no future in Montenegro.
Pajković claimed that her resignation was for personal reasons but accused Vukšić of physical aggression and intimidation. She questioned why she didn’t speak up sooner, given the nature of his threats.
She expressed concern over Vukšić’s potential to harm her, especially due to his position in security services, saying that threats today can take many forms, often subtle yet destructive.
Both Pajković and Vukšić have denied one another’s allegations and have pursued legal action, leading to threats reportedly coming from landlines in the presidential palace. Pajković has filed a criminal complaint for the unauthorized distribution of intimate material, including her photos.
Vukšić resigned in late December, citing personal reasons as well, following the police involvement after the explicit content was leaked. He denied all allegations, asserting he first saw the controversial footage when it began to circulate online unlawfully.
He also accused Pajković of breaching privacy by improperly acquiring a phone that allegedly recorded their conversation, where threats were made against her.
Vukšić claimed that following his report to the police, Pajković was questioned regarding various accusations, including extortion and theft. Tensions between the two have escalated, leaving the timeline of the alleged tape’s creation unclear.
