Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry Takes Scary Fall Off Miss Universe Stage, Needs Stretcher

Miss Jamaica’s Fall During Pageant

Miss Jamaica’s pageant experience took a terrifying turn on November 19 when she fell off the stage and was carried away on a stretcher.

Footage that quickly spread across social media showed Miss Jamaica, Dr. Gabrielle Henry, showcasing her beautiful gown before unexpectedly falling off the stage at the evening gown qualifying round in Thailand. It seemed like, before she could regain her balance, she stepped off the dark runway and fell hard.

People rushed to help her, and the audience reacted with shock and concern, many jumping to their feet.

As she was being carried on a stretcher, the crowd applauded, and those assisting quickly moved her backstage while the show continued.

The Miss Universe Jamaica organization shared an update on social media, announcing that she was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital for medical attention.

“Medical professionals indicated her injuries were not life-threatening, but further tests are being conducted to ensure a complete recovery,” the organization stated. They encouraged everyone to keep her in their thoughts and prayers as she receives care.

Raul Rocha, who owns the Miss Universe pageant, also shared a social media post stating he had been at the hospital with her family. Thankfully, he mentioned, there were no broken bones, and she is being well looked after. She will be kept under observation overnight, and they will remain in contact with her family for support.

“We wish her a speedy recovery,” he added.

Dr. Gabrielle Henry works as an ophthalmologist and has established the See Me Foundation, which aids visually impaired individuals across Jamaica.

This incident is one among various challenges currently facing the Miss Universe pageant. Recently, there was a controversy involving Miss Universe executive Nawat Isaragrisil and Miss Mexico Fatima Bosch, culminating in protests from several contestants. They walked out of pre-pageant events in solidarity against the treatment of beauty queens, leading to Isaragrisil’s dismissal from the 2025 Miss Universe pageant.

Additionally, shortly after that, judge Omar Harhoush resigned abruptly, claiming the event was rigged, while another judge abstained for personal reasons.

Before her fall, Henry had been sharing pre-contest updates on her Instagram but has not yet returned to social media to share news about her condition.
