Miss Kay Robertson, a cherished figure from the “Duck Dynasty” family, is currently facing significant health challenges. Her son, Willie, mentioned to the USA Today Network that, “Kay is not healthy,” emphasizing their attempts to support her as much as they can.
The 77-year-old notably missed the premiere party of “Duck Dynasty: Revival” on June 1 in Monroe, Louisiana. This news comes on the heels of her recent bereavement—her husband, Phil Robertson, passed away on May 25 due to Alzheimer’s disease at the age of 79.
Willie added that Kay is understandably depressed after losing her partner of 60 years. Early episodes of the reboot featured her, but her declining health has kept her from participating in later filming. Concerns about her well-being first emerged in April when her son, Jace Robertson, shared that she had fallen and developed an infection, necessitating hospitalization, which led to a rough realization that “maybe this is it.”
Jace revealed on their family podcast that Kay requires round-the-clock professional care. He also shared how their children are involved in supporting Kay, noting, “You’re helping her morale, but she’s helping his morale,” referring to Phil’s influence even in his passing.
During her time in the medical facility, family and friends made it a point to visit her, creating what they called “Kay’s Kingdom.” Last month, Willie reflected on his late father’s faith and their last moments together, expressing deep emotions on social media after Phil’s death.
Willie recalled Phil’s many prayers, noting how words couldn’t fully convey the depth of their relationship, which had spanned many years. He emphasized what Phil taught him about sharing faith, stating that most of their conversations revolved around the gospel rather than hunting or business matters.
Phil Robertson, renowned for founding the Duck Commander Hunting Company and his role in the A&E show, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in December 2024. In his heartfelt tribute, Willie expressed his love and the invaluable lessons his father imparted, while also reflecting on the significance of faith.
A&E recently announced the revival of “Duck Dynasty” after an eight-year hiatus, focusing on Willie, his wife, and their adult children—John Luke, Sadie, Will, Bella, and Rebecca, along with their grandchildren. The original series aired for 11 seasons from 2012 to 2017, achieving viewership highs of 11.8 million.
