Miss Universe 2025 Fatima Bosch rejects claims that her victory was fixed

Fatima Bosch, the newly crowned Miss Universe 2025 from Mexico, is standing firm against ongoing criticism since her win on November 21. She addressed allegations surrounding her victory, particularly claims that the competition was rigged in her favor, in a preview for an upcoming interview with “Nightline” anchor JuJu Chan.

“They are running this campaign of hate,” she insisted.

Bosch described her win as a “sham,” countering former judge Omar Harhouche’s accusations that her father, a high-ranking official at Pemex, had influence over Miss Universe owner Raul Rocha. “My father has nothing to do with the organization. That’s crazy,” she remarked. “How are you going to buy a crown? You might be able to buy one at Walmart, but not at Miss Universe.”

Prior to her victory, Bosch had a tense exchange with Nawat Isaragrisil, the Miss Universe Organization’s executive director, and led a walkout with several contestants. She admitted to Chan that she felt a sense of fear, concerned her outspokenness could cost her the title. “I could not remain silent, because, in any case, your dignity is more important than any price or any dream,” she said.

Despite suggestions that her act of courage played a role in her success, Bosch refrained from claiming credit. “I feel like I made history, so why not?” she pondered. “But this is a joke. I’m putting in the same effort as everyone else in the contest… But is that okay?”

Moreover, Bosch dismissed rumors about stepping down from her title. “Of course not,” she stated firmly. “I will never walk away from this crown. I’m not here for fame or to find a husband. There’s a purpose on my heart, and I intend to serve and help others for years to come.”

A few weeks before the competition, Isaragrisil publicly insulted her, calling her a “dummy.” Bosch responded passionately, voicing her frustrations regarding respect and dignity. Following their altercation, Isaragrisil was removed from his position.

Yet, the controversy didn’t end with her crowning. Harhouche, who resigned as a judge prior to the ceremony, alleged that Bosch was a “fake winner.” He also claimed that her family tried to influence him in the voting process.

The Miss Universe Organization has rebutted Harhouche’s assertions, affirming that “all competitive assessments will continue to follow established, transparent, and supervised MUO protocols.”
