Missing French bulldogs found dead in crab pots in Alaska

Two French bulldogs who have gone missing in Alaska for more than a month are found dead in a crab pan. The owner believes he was accused and killed in the “personal” revenge of the disease.

French brothers Yoda and whiskey were found inside a crab pot trap surrounded on Friday during routine shell inspections near Thorn Bay. The Alaska Wildlife Troopers said on an official dispatch.

The one-year-old puppy has been missing since February 13th when owner Kane Martin, along with him and his brother, was working with the logging unit in Thorn Bay. He told KLTV.

Martin believes the dog has been accused, He told Ktoo.

“The Troopers told me they thought it was personal,” he said of the ongoing investigation.

“I mean, there's only one person on this island who has some sort of Vendetta against me, not even something I know. I mean, I've lived here for my life,” Kane said.

Troopers now support information from potential witnesses before sharing with the public, Ktoo suggests there are no suspects yet.

Authorities returned the crab pans to the water, hoping the owners would show up to claim them, but they were taken away in the middle of the night, Martin said.

“To be honest, I'm still a bit distrustful,” Martin's wife, Esther Martin, told Ktuu about their adorable puppies.

“They were the sweetest dogs you've ever met. They'd have jumped into the car with someone.”

Martins believed that Yoda and Whiskey would return at some point after they went missing, but they felt the fish were happening when the search for weeks got colder, Esther told KLTV.

“The dogs went to work with them every day since they returned in June, so it was very unusual for them to disappear like they did,” she said.

“We were suspicious immediately, but we wanted them to come back on our own, but that took longer,” she told the outlet.

“My brother-in-law [Shane Martin] I searched all night. He returned to the same area many times after they finished work,” Esther said.

Authorities discovered the dog's body after conducting a daily pot inspection of shellfish.

“We left clothes items, their dog beds, their food. We were on quads for a few days, just looking for all the roads, all the muskegs, all the trails.”

Martins offers a $2,500 reward for information.

“[Yoda and Whiskey] I hope it was quick when thinking about their final moments, immeasurably friendly. They were so sweet and so loved that I can't think about it for too long.”R told KLTV.
