Missing Michigan Woman Rescued After 7 Years

A Michigan woman missing for seven years was rescued after seeking help at a hotel outside Detroit.

The woman was last seen in 2017 and was reunited with her family by Michigan State Police, law enforcement said in a thread about X.

on Feb. 26 in Inkster, about 14 miles southwest of downtown Detroit, after the victim’s stepmother called police from a motel room where she was “being held against her will.” We arrived at an Evergreen Motel.

The woman, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn for evaluation and questioning by detectives. She was then “reunified with her family and given other means to aid her recovery,” police said.

Police also recovered drugs, a cell phone and a gun from the motel room.

MSP spokesperson Mike Shaw said: “It was an outstanding job by the TAG detectives who followed this call, rescued this woman and brought her home to her family.”

The agency added that a suspect has been identified but not yet in custody and that an investigation is underway to determine whether human trafficking was involved.
