Missing nursing student found dead on Univ. of Georgia campus ID’d

The nursing student who went missing while jogging on the University of Georgia campus and was found dead has been identified as Laken Hope Riley, authorities said.

Riley, 22, was found with “visible injuries” near a lake around 12:38 p.m. Thursday, and authorities are investigating her death as a possible criminal act. . The Athens-Clarke County coroner told CNN on Friday..

Her cause and manner of death are still under investigation, officials said.

Riley was a student at Augusta University College of Nursing in Athens, which is also home to the University of Georgia. WSB-TV2 reported.

She was first reported missing by her roommate.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting with the investigation.

The Athens-Clarke County Coroner did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment.
