Missing Princeton University student Lauren Blackburn last seen near library

Princeton University and its Public Safety Agency are looking for a 23-year-old student who disappeared on April 19 after being last seen near the campus library.

Lauren Blackburn, 23, of Indiana, was found near the pre-vanished Firestone Library at around 6pm on Saturday.

The student is a former staff writer for a university newspaper. Daily Princetonian.

“We’ll share the latest updates when we know more, but in the meantime, please embrace Lauren at your thoughts when we try to find him,” the vice president of student life said in an email to students.

Blackburn is an outstanding high school student and reportedly was selected as one of the 2,500 students on the National Merit Scholarship in 2019 before enrolling in Princeton. According to Wave.

“He can read the book and learn everything in it,” Kate Robinson, an English teacher at Coridon Central High School, told the outlet at the time. “I’m sure he has a memory of the photograph.”

Lastly, Blackburn was seen “close to the Firestone Library wearing blue jeans with torn knees, a black zippered hooded sweatshirt and a yellow T-shirt with blue and flat-soled shoes,” Princeton said. (Princeton University)

Authorities reportedly began a search near Carnegie Lake in Princeton. According to WPVI.

Blackburn was 6 feet 2, weighing 170 pounds and lastly wore blue jeans with tears in his knees, a yellow T-shirt and a zippered hooded sweatshirt. He has brown eyes and dark hair.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about Blackburn’s location to contact the Public Safety Department at (609) 258-1000.
