Just days away from his wedding, a Mississippi lineman sacrificed his time to help those in need during Hurricane Milton recovery efforts.
“I found out last Monday that he was retiring last Wednesday,” Emily Holder, lineman Brady Creel's fiancée, told Fox News Digital.
Holder said they both knew the request was coming, but had hoped it wouldn't be so close to their wedding date.
“It was a little disappointing because I want my partner to be involved in everything leading up to the wedding, but thankfully all the big things have been taken care of and he didn't leave me with too much stress. ” Holder said.

Holder told WDAM that two crew members had already been sent to help with Hurricane Helen cleanup efforts before the Creel, and he felt they would be sent in if Milton's impact was predicted. Explained.
“This is what he wants to do,” Holder said. “He's always going to be the type of person who gives back to others and puts others before himself. I'm so proud of him,” Holder said. In an extended interview with WDAM.

Holder and Creel, who have been dating for almost two years, have been planning their wedding for the past 14 months. With less than a week to go before the swearing-in, Creel is in Wauchula, Florida, helping the administration recover in the wake of Hurricane Milton.
Holder added that Creel was given the option to skip the trip, but chose to jump in and help those in need, even though she had a wedding coming up.

She added that she hasn't been able to talk to Creel much because he works 16-hour days and has limited services.
Their wedding will take place on October 19th in Richton, Mississippi.
“My aunt, who lives outside of Orlando, will pick him up Wednesday afternoon and we'll drive the 10-and-a-half hours home,” Holder said.
According to The Knot wedding website, Holder and Creel started their relationship “a little differently.”

The wedding story description says, “We had the same group of friends growing up and we never knew each other. We both knew that we had matured and were ready to meet forever. I feel that it was God's plan for us to meet when we are ready.”
Holder told Fox News Digital that she and Creel are honeymooning in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
