A Mississippi mother was arrested after walking around a Walmart with her shivering toddler wearing only a diaper in subzero temperatures. One of her employees claimed she was fired because she posted a video that went viral on social media.
Cambria Gabrielle Darby, 26, was charged with child neglect after police were called to the store around 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 17 and found the mother in the parking lot. According to WJTV.
Darby's confrontation and verbal abuse inside the store went viral after a Walmart employee posted the video under the Facebook username Fee Nicole.
The employee, whose real name is Felicia Darling, began recording the video after seeing a mother, dressed appropriately for the 20-degree weather outside, loading her diapered toddler into a cold shopping cart. According to WLBT.
Several shoppers confronted Darby at a store in Byram, Mississippi, and as he made his way through the store, he stopped in one of the freezer aisles and threw a bag of frozen vegetables at a shivering child. Captured video.
“She's throwing cold food at this kid. What's wrong?” the man demanded, according to the footage.
The carer retorted to the worried shopper: “Shut your voice, who are you?”
“You're crazy,” the man calls his mother, before she turns around and yells a vulgar tirade, only making a small gesture toward the camera before stopping.
Law enforcement spoke with Darby outside and discovered that the child had been dressed by shoppers inside the store, but was still freezing and shivering.

She was released on bail conditions ordered by Hinds County Juvenile Court, WLBT reported.
Paramedics were called to check on the child's safety before Child Protective Services arrived.
The infant was subsequently released to approved relatives.
After her release, Darby took to social media to defend her actions and the way she raised her children.
“I have photos of every meal I make,” she says, proving she's well suited to parent. This distortion of character (sic) is hurting my heart,” she wrote in a 656-word Facebook post. Viewed by Daily Mail.
Last week, Darby compared his treatment inside Walmart to that of Jesus.
“They did the same thing to Jesus. He got sick to his stomach as well. He didn't want to go through that.”
The mother of three said she has not seen her children since the incident and has not had a proper meal because of the incident.
“I have never seen my children since they were taken away by CPS. Last night was the first night I ate a few crackers since they were gone,” her statement added. “I know that this too shall pass. I know that one day me and my children will be reunited.”
